Automatic exploration of multi-unit housing layouts, room completion in Revit, conversion of site manager’s verbal reports into structured logs.
In September 2026, Autodesk detailed a series of AI functions spread across its construction toolchain. On the design side, the Autodesk Assistant answers questions about a project site in natural language, while the Building Layout Explorer generates and compares multi-family housing layouts. Revit receives automatic part completion, optimization of annotations and automation of part of the documentation.
On the site side, Project Home Insights reports on areas requiring priority attention and a Daily Log Agent converts the site manager's oral reports into structured journals. In addition, there are specialized agents for documentary research, review of technical sheets and processing of calls for tenders, as well as an analysis of differences between plan revisions. A review of the compliance of the files with codes and standards is announced for early 2027.
The publisher accompanies these announcements with a positioning argument: generic AI is not enough for construction, it needs the right data, the context of the project and the business expertise to interpret the conditions of a site and the design intention. Civil 3D also joins Revit as a customer connected to Forma, and a new brick, Forma Street Design, makes it possible to explore road configurations and intersections in the upstream phase and then transfer the work to Civil 3D.
