The Series D values the Japanese-American company, which structures technical drawings and purchasing data to make them analysable by AI models, at $1.2 billion.
Based in Tokyo and Chicago, CADDi has just completed a $114 million Series D round that values it at $1.2 billion. The round brings together Moore Strategic Ventures, Coreline Ventures, Woven Capital — Toyota's fund — Atomico and Globis Capital Partners.
The company is tackling an unspectacular but stubborn problem: in the manufacturing industry, useful information sits in technical drawings, production records and purchase histories that no system has ever structured. CADDi's platform shapes all of this so that a model can search for equivalent parts, compare prices or spot shortages. Subaru, Kawasaki, Yanmar, Mitsubishi, YKK and Amerequip are among its customers.
The funds are to be used for expansion in North America, where manufacturers are facing labour shortages and complex supply chains. The investors' bet is explicit: AI would eventually penetrate one of the sectors most resistant to digitisation.
