The Restyle feature, currently in beta in the US and Canada, allows you to change the furniture, paint colours and lighting in a photo of a real interior before making a purchase.
Pinterest is testing Restyle, a tool that applies generative transformations to a photo of a real room. The user uploads his interior and then asks for either a global style — bohemian, industrial — or targeted touch-ups: replace a piece of furniture, erase an object, change a paint color or lighting.
The feature is based on Pinterest Intelligence, the in-house infrastructure that combines Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and open models. It is currently offered in beta in the United States and Canada, with a wider rollout announced for the following month.
The commercial interest is explicit: by allowing you to view a pinned object in your own living room, Pinterest seeks to bridge the gap between inspiration and purchase, the historical weak point of its monetization. Interior design thus becomes one of the first areas where image generation is directly inserted into a purchasing journey.
