The Danish laboratory will test Anthropic's scientific platform on a selection of R&D workflows, without the amount of the agreement being made public.
Novo Nordisk announced on 16 September 2026 an agreement with Anthropic on the use of Claude Science in its drug discovery and development activities. The laboratory will first identify, with its scientific and computational teams, the concrete blockages encountered in research, then build tools dedicated to these steps rather than deploy the tool anywhere at once.
Two uses are highlighted: biological reasoning applied to discovery problems, and agent-assisted software development, which Novo Nordisk presents as the condition for spreading AI throughout the company. The group is already using Claude to produce clinical trial reports, a documentation task that counted in months and now counts in minutes.
Both companies insist on supervision: data governance and human supervision are presented as part of the system from the start. Mike Doustdar, Managing Director of Novo Nordisk, claims the ambition to become "the most AI-led healthcare company in the world." No financial conditions were communicated.
