DaxAI Robotics showed a four-legged articulated robot equipped with a saddle and handlebars, capable of carrying up to 300 kilos on rough terrain.
At the World Robot Conference in Beijing, on August 23, 2026, DaxAI Robotics circulated the Qiji X1 through the aisles: a quadruped ridden by a rider, equipped with a saddle and handlebars as a control. The machine moves forward on four articulated legs, without wheels or tracks, with a slow and calm gait during demonstrations.
The announced characteristics bring the payload to about 300 kilograms, for a range of around 40 kilometers and a speed approaching 10 km/h on mixed terrain — gravel, mud, steep slopes. The machine is offered at around 289,000 yuan, a price that makes it intended for specialized uses rather than the general public.
The company, which was founded around 2025 in Beijing, was founded by Wang Kun, who has worked in robotics and autonomous driving, with Xu Wenqiang as technical director. The Qiji X1 is currently a proof of concept: it does not replace any existing vehicle, but explores transport and industrial work on irregular surfaces. It was exhibited on the sidelines of the World Humanoid Robot Games, which brought together more than 2,000 robots from sixteen countries.
