Fortaegis Raises $50 Million to Anchor AI Infrastructure Security in Silicon

The Dutch company exploits variations in chip manufacturing to generate encryption keys that are never stored anywhere.

On September 14, 2026, Fortaegis completed a $50 million oversubscribed A series, led by Singaporean Serendipity Capital, with TEL Venture Capital, TNO, Prodrive Technologies, NP-Hard Ventures, NovaCapital, Access Ventures and Coalition Capital. Founded in October 2023, the Dutch company already works with more than 25 companies and administrations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore, Germany, France and the Netherlands.

The technical principle lies in the microscopic imperfections created during the manufacture of semiconductors: they give each chip a unique physical footprint. Fortaegis drifts from frequently renewed encryption keys, and especially never kept on the device—there is therefore no secret to extract from a compromised memory. The battery covers hardware, firmware, cryptography and software layer, and the company claims to connect institutions more than two hundred times faster than conventional approaches, without publishing detailed measurements.

The targets announced are AI infrastructure, defence, telecommunications and autonomous systems. The company is currently moving from technical validation to production qualification, with a commercial production expected in 2027, in parallel with a gradual rise on FPGA and the development of dedicated chips.
