Apple opens the beta of Siri AI, his assistant reworked with personal context

On September 14, Apple released Siri AI's first beta: the assistant now knows how to read the screen, find information in the messages or photos, and sequence the re-launch.

Apple launched Siri AI beta on September 14, 2026, a complete overhaul of its assistant presented with software versions 2027. Three bricks change the situation: understanding the personal context — the assistant can search for an item in the messages, emails or the image library — awareness of what is displayed on the screen, and an action set expanded to all the system applications. Exchanges keep the thread from one question to another, which was cruelly missing from the old Siri.

The rest of the update expands Apple Intelligence: Visual Intelligence arrives on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro, writing tools become accessible everywhere, Image Playground knows how to produce photorealistic images, Safari wins automatic tab organization and page changes tracking, and Apple Watch receives audio functions (recognition of sounds, delayed listening, Siri summary).

On the technical side, Apple relies on its own Foundation Models, developed in collaboration with Google and its Gemini model, with local processing whenever possible and a switch to Private Cloud Compute for heavier queries. The beta starts in English; French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish are announced for the following month. Compatible hardware is limited to iPhone 16 and later, iPhone 15 Pro, Mac and iPad equipped with an M1 chip or newer, and Vision Pro. The European Union and China are excluded from the initial launch.
