Google releases ADK for Kotlin 1.0, with extensions for Android

The AI agent development kit has reached its stable release and combines orchestration, session resumption and integrations for on-premises or cloud-based models.

Google announced on September 9 the general availability of ADK for Kotlin 1.0. The framework brings the functions of the ADK 1.0 core to Kotlin developers, with mechanisms of multi-agent orchestration, context compression and human intervention.

Android extensions include connecting agents to models executed on the device or in the cloud, and maintaining their state with Room and AppSearch. The kit also targets server-side applications. Its publication facilitates the construction of agents in the Kotlin ecosystem; the reliability of the actions remains to be verified in each application.
