Kinetic Blocks Opens Marketplace for Humanoid Robot Training Data

The Norwegian platform wants to replace months of bilateral negotiations with an online purchase of graded datasets, including a commercial license.

Kinetic Blocks opened an invitation-only beta of its humanoid robot training data marketplace on September 1, 2026. Sellers and buyers alike must be validated one by one: the company explicitly targets teams that hold transferable data or that actually train models, not the curious.

Sellers deposit their datasets in LeRobot v3.0 format or in a proprietary format, along with documents attesting to their rights. Each submission goes through KBQS, the in-house rating system, which assigns a quality score displayed on the dataset sheet alongside the price and technical characteristics. The catalog includes human egocentric video, teleoperation recordings, and robotic execution data. The commercial license is paid at the time of purchase, which avoids disputes after training; sellers set their prices and the platform takes a margin.

The company is led by Lars-Fredrik Forberg from the Startuplab in Oslo, with Erik Ålgård, who worked at 1X Technologies, as chairman of the board. A seed round is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. The schedule follows that of the market: humanoid shipments tripled over one year in the first half of 2026, and each of these machines requires data to progress.
