Ringg raises $10 million from Peak XV and handles 20 million calls per month for Flipkart and Shell

The Indian synthetic voice start-up is increasing its Series A to $15.5 million and wants to move beyond the single phone call to cover chat, WhatsApp and browser support.

Ringg, an Indian enterprise voice agent company, has secured a $10 million Series A extension from Peak XV Partners, bringing the total round to $15.5 million. Founded by Siddharth Tripathi, Kali CV and Utkarsh Shukla, the company started as DesiVocal in text-to-speech before pivoting to chatbots for large accounts, with its own speech recognition and generation models.

The volumes claimed give the measure of the Indian market: around 20 million call attempts handled each month, with voice accounting for more than 70% of the business. Clients include Cred, Flipkart, Practo, Groww, Policybazaar and Shell; the partnership with Practo alone covers 1,200 clinics. The team has around forty people, more than fifteen of whom were recruited in the last three months.

The strategy is to move away from simple use cases to more complex workflows — appointment scheduling, abandoned cart reminders, KYC identity verification — and to go through global service centers in India rather than directly canvassing U.S. companies.
