The consensus is for $92.18 billion in quarterly revenue, nearly double the figure a year ago, and the group's forecast rules out any sales of data center AI chips to China.
Nvidia is due to publish its accounts for the second quarter of fiscal 2027, which ended on July 26, 2026, on Wednesday, August 26, after the close of markets. This is undoubtedly the most anticipated publication of the season: the group dominates the AI chip and infrastructure market to such an extent that its figures serve as a leading indicator for the entire sector.
Expectations are dizzying. Nvidia guided to $91 billion in revenue, a 95% increase over one year, while the Wall Street consensus expects $92.18 billion, an increase of 97% — compared to $46.74 billion in the same quarter last year. On the earnings side, the market is targeting $2.09 in adjusted earnings per share compared to $1.05 a year earlier. A detail that weighs on us: as in recent quarters, this forecast does not include any sales of AI chips for data centers to China.
History argues for a beating of expectations: Nvidia has beaten the consensus in 22 of the last 24 quarters, and in the last four consistently, with an average difference of 4.6%. This does not guarantee the stock's reaction, which is often dictated more by the outlook than by the published accounts — and for the following quarter, the market is already expecting $103.9 billion in revenue.
