Computer use, browser use, Skills API and Files API are now generally available. The browser tool does not drive Chrome: it reads the page's accessibility tree.
Anthropic suddenly flipped four bricks from its platform out of the beta phase: computer use, a new browser tool (browser use), API Skills and API Files. The set now constitutes a stack of agents usable in production, under tool set identifiers computer_toolset_20260801 and browser_toolset_20260801.

The shade deserves to be noted: the browser tool uses does not launch a real browser and does not rely on screenshots. It gives the model structured access to the page — reading the accessibility tree, interacting with forms, managing tabs, sending files. The operation is therefore closer to a semantic reading of the document than to a pixel automation, which clearly distinguishes it from the computer tool, which handles a desktop screen.
On the latter, Anthropic announces that Claude can now chain several actions within the same turn, instead of one action per model call: much to reduce the number of return trips needed to complete a task. The Skills API is now limited to uploading and versioning reusable skills — instructions, context and procedures for recurring tasks. The API Files, for its part, has a fivefold flow limit and a terabyte storage.
