XPeng's robotics branch raises over $900 million and values $6.3 billion

IDG Capital leads the tour with Tencent and Alibaba as strategic investors. The IRON humanoid targets mass production by the end of 2026.

The Chinese manufacturer XPeng announced on 24 August 2026 that its robotics business had completed its first round of external financing, amounting to over $900 million. The transaction carries the entity's post-money valuation beyond $6.3 billion and is, according to the company, the largest private financing in a single release ever recorded in China's embodied AI sector.

The tour is led by IDG Capital, with the participation of Gaorong Ventures and, as strategic investors, Tencent and Alibaba. The funds are to be used for hardware and software research and development, training and iteration of physical AI models, quality data generation, construction of mass production facilities, and international commercial expansion.

The announced schedule for the IRON humanoid foresees an entry into mass production by the end of 2026, with a first deployment to the group's stores and campuses, before official launches and deliveries to China and abroad from 2027.
