The Danish laboratory wants to shorten the path between the identification of a therapeutic target and the first administration in humans using agentic systems.
Novo Nordisk and Amazon Web Services have sealed a strategic partnership that installs AWS as the preferred cloud provider and reference IA partner of the laboratory. The agreement covers both the discovery of medicines and the modernization of the group's technological infrastructure.
Its anchoring point is an open co-innovation centre in London, where AWS engineers and Novo Nordisk scientists work together on laboratory data and models. The objective is to compress the phase from identifying a therapeutic target to first administration in humans, one of the longest and most expensive segments of pharmaceutical development.
The group highlights the first effects already measured on another field: a reduction in the time spent on clinical documentation and productivity gains for more than 25,000 employees, presented as the baseline before a wider deployment of agent systems. The partnership is in addition to an agreement reached in April with OpenAI, which gives Danish an AI stack spread from research to commercial operations.
