Rejection of AI and data centers will be listed as a risk factor in Anthropic's IPO prospectus

According to sources cited by CNBC, the growing public hostility to AI and the construction of data centers will be listed among the risks of the operation, expected in the coming weeks.

Anthropic is about to enter the stock exchange in a significantly degraded climate of opinion for artificial intelligence, and its prospectus should take this into account: according to persons informed of the record cited by CNBC, public distrust of AI and local opposition to new data centres will be mentioned as a risk factor. Claude's publisher, who filed his case confidentially in June, has been conducting "test-the-water" preparatory meetings with bankers and investors in San Francisco for a few weeks.

At these meetings, financial director Krishna Rao is asked about competition, the pressure on the margins of open models, and what would happen if the pace of data center construction slowed down. Investors expect a valuation of approximately $2,000 billion, which would place the transaction above SpaceX, which had raised $85.7 billion of over-allocation option included.

The political context explains prudence. A Gallup poll published in May indicated that seven out of ten Americans opposed the establishment of an IA data centre near their home, nearly half of which were "strongly" against about a quarter of those who supported it. Less than three months before the mid-term elections, elected representatives from both sides took up this issue.
