xAI launches Grok Bot, agents who each have their own computer in the cloud

Presented as "AI teammates" rather than assistants, xAI's bots connect to the user's tools and complete multi-step tasks, including closed computer.

xAI unveiled Grok Bot, a set of assistants designed to perform end-to-end tasks rather than answer questions. In beta phase, the product is reserved for SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers on computer and iOS, with company access via a waiting list.

The technical feature is the execution environment: each bot has its own cloud-hosted computer, allowing it to connect to the user's tools, conduct processes in several steps, and complete the work where it has to land. Internally, xAI says they used these bots to update CRM, debug code, or process invoices. "There is a huge difference between a 90% task and a 100% task," sums up Roman, a member of the product team: the commercial argument relates precisely to the latter segment, which most tools leave to the user.

Interaction is intended to be close to the one we would have with a colleague: one delegates by message, bots gradually adjust to preferences and working methods, and can coordinate themselves in group conversations, returning to the human only for validation or clarification.
