Databricks wanted to raise 1 billion, investors proposed 15: the deal is made at 5 billion for 190 billion valuation

The Californian publisher closes a $5 billion turn led by Coatue, at a value of $190 billion, while its annualized revenue exceeds $7 billion.

Databricks had only planned to open its capital for a billion dollars. The leak of the project into the specialized press was enough to change the operation: according to its managing director Ali Ghodsi, the interest marks reached fifteen billion, a level that the company preferred to accept five billion rather than to exclude historical shareholders. The tour is led by Coatue, with Blackstone, MGX, accounts managed by T. Rowe Price and the new entrants Sixth Street Growth.

The holdback, $190 billion, comes less than a month after a previous round concluded at $188 billion, and six months after an operation at $134 billion. The company claims annualized sales of more than $7 billion, growing by more than 80% over a year; Its historical data warehouse product alone weighs $1.5 billion and doubles from year to year.

The funds must supply three agent-oriented bricks: Lakebase, a database designed to be interviewed by agents and already at $100 million annualized income, Genie, an assistant who answers business questions from the company's data, and a governance gateway to guide the use of the models and the associated invoice.
