The Dublin-based company, validated on more than ten missions, applies its embedded AI to maritime surveillance and dynamically pilots optical, radar and RF satellites.
Dublin-based Ubotica Technologies announced on June 23, 2026 that it had raised $11 million, co-led by Act Venture Capital (Ireland) and Greencode Ventures (Finland), with the participation of its historical investor Atlantic Bridge.
The company's principle is based on an inversion: processing the data on board the satellite rather than bringing it back to the ground for analysis. The time between observation and operation is shortened accordingly, which is a game-changer for maritime intelligence, a market in which Ubotica is positioned. The platform applies risk prediction algorithms and can dynamically control different types of satellites — optical, synthetic aperture radar, radio frequency — to monitor a threat in real time.
Eight years of orbital AI development and validation on more than ten separate missions support the approach, which is claimed to be hardware-agnostic: it can be integrated in principle on any satellite with on-board computing capacity. The company is targeting several global customers in the next two years.
