The Jinfeng laboratory is rolling out six smart diagnostic modules across 50 partner institutions, in a country where there is a shortage of more than 100,000 pathologists.
The Jinfeng laboratory in Chongqing, southwest China, has commissioned six intelligent diagnostic modules capable of analyzing digitized data from pathology slides, predicting the evolution of a disease and proposing therapeutic orientations. The processing time of a slide drops from five minutes to fifty seconds, for an announced diagnostic accuracy of 87%.
The system works in a network with Hygeia Hospital and 49 other health facilities, and has already been used for more than 400 remote diagnoses of complex cases — a mode of organization that responds directly to the Chinese shortage, estimated at more than 100,000 missing specialists in anatomical pathology.
In April 2026, the laboratory had also created the first standardised dataset on brain tumours approved by the national control authorities, an essential building block for the training and validation of this type of model.
