Meta AI releases an office app for Mac, cut for professional accounts

Launched on August 19, the app adds screen sharing, dictation and access to advertising and commitment data from professional Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Meta launched on 19 August 2026 an office application dedicated to its Meta AI assistant on macOS. The main novelty is screen sharing: the assistant can observe a desktop window and answer questions or produce content from what he sees. In addition, a voice dictation can be used in any application and a quick call from the overprinting assistant of the current software.

The positioning is clearly professional. Holders of a Facebook or Instagram account for pro use can ask the assistant about their activity — engagement of publications, performance of advertising campaigns — using data from which Meta is the sole repository, and connect Google Workspace to manipulate documents and spreadsheets.

The application is free for any Meta account holder, with usage limits on the advanced functions beyond which a subscription is required. It arrives a few weeks after the launch of the group's software development agent, in an assumed strategy of selling AI tools to Meta's professional users base.
