The Digital Education Council’s global survey, which polled 45,398 people across 35 countries, reveals widespread adoption without a coherent educational framework.
The Digital Education Council surveyed 27,284 students and 18,114 teachers in 35 countries, for 45,398 responses. The result: 88% of students use AI in their learning and 77% of teachers in their practice, the latter proportion having jumped by 16 points in one year.
The gap lies elsewhere. Only 29% of students believe that their teachers are able to support them in the use of AI, and 57% say they lack clear instructions for evaluation. Only 28% believe that the tests they take correspond to the skills expected in a professional world equipped by AI, and 22% admit that they now find it more difficult to work without assistance.
The survey also notes a regional divergence: in the United States and Canada, the intention to use among teachers fell by 9 points, to 67%, the lowest level observed. The authors' conclusion can be summed up in one formula: adoption is widespread, practice is not.
