Claude: Anthropic renames Max in Max and Ultra, and removes the five-hour limit for Ultra Verified Accounts

Prices do not change (100 and 200 dollars per month), but the most expensive subscription loses its five-hour slippery window. Weekly limits remain in place.

Anthropic announced on October 30 a name change of its premium subscriptions to Claude: the Max 5x offer simply becomes Max, and Max 20x becomes Ultra. Prices remain the same, $100 a month for Max and $200 for Ultra, and subscribers have nothing to do.

The most notable change relates to quotas: the five-hour usage limit for Ultra-verified accounts disappears, starting with the announcement by most existing subscribers. Recent accounts retain a temporary limit until they are audited, a measure presented as a means of combating fraud and abuse; an e-mail will notify you of its lifting. Weekly limits don't move.

This five-hour window was at the heart of the criticisms of large users, particularly in the context of the collective proceedings against Anthropic, which blames the "20x" offer for not providing the advertised use.
