Apple adds an IA assistant to Pages, Keynote and Numbers, and opens them to third party agents via MCP

Based on Apple and OpenAI models, the assistant writes, presents slides and analyzes tables; it arrives in beta on iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27.

Apple integrates an AI assistant into its office suite. Relying on its own templates and those of OpenAI, it takes into account the content of the open document: in Keynote, it designs, animates and refines slides; in Pages, it writes and restructures texts; in Numbers, it performs calculations, organizes data, builds tables and suggests types of graphs.

Another notable new feature: in macOS 27, all three apps support the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which allows third-party AI agents to connect and act on it. The assistant is being rolled out in beta on Apple Intelligence-enabled devices running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27.
