OpenAI would aim at a valuation of over $1 trillion for its entry into the stock market

After a fund-raising of $852 billion, OpenAI would have filed a confidential request for an introduction to the stock exchange and would aim at a rating exceeding the symbolic threshold of $1 trillion.

OpenAI filed on June 8, 2026 a confidential application for registration with the US stock regulator, with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as consulting banks. The company, valued at $852 billion after raising $122 billion in March, would now aim at a quotation in excess of $1 trillion, making it one of the largest stock exchanges in history.

The timing remains uncertain: a quotation was initially expected as early as September 2026, but several analysts now refer to a possible deferral to 2027, depending on market conditions and the progress of the regulatory review.
