Meta results: Muse exceeds 10 million users and becomes the heart of Zuckerberg's speech

In presenting the third quarter results, Mark Zuckerberg claimed more than 10 million users for his agent Muse, more than a quarter of whom made purchases there, and promises to monetize faster than usual.

Meta released its results for the third quarter of 2026 on 21 October: revenues of $64.6 billion, up 26% over one year, but a 37% decline in operating income, with a charge of $9.89 billion related to a settlement with a Attorney General. The group also raised the bottom of its 2026 investment range, now expected between $135 billion and $145 billion, and announced the creation of a new class of non-voting shares to fund the development of its AI models.

Muse, mentioned almost 50 times

At the conference with analysts, Mark Zuckerberg spoke mainly about Muse, the personal agent launched in September: it would already have more than 10 million users in the United States and Canada. Shopping is the main use — more than a quarter of users make purchases, for an average basket of more than $200 — followed by personal productivity, with the connection of courier and calendar according to Susan Li. The leader quoted Muse almost 50 times in his introduction, against only once for Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

Meta intends to monetize the agent earlier than its usual products, due to the costs involved and the weight of the trade in usage: Muse would remain free for most people, the company paying itself by a transaction commission, in addition to paying subscriptions and an offer for small businesses. The agent must arrive next month on Meta's connected glasses, and a dedicated device, Muse Charm, is announced as imminent.
