DSX POD: Nvidia delivers its Vera Rubin AI factories in containers, promises commissioning in 14 days instead of six months

Announced at the GTC in Berlin, the DSX POD consists of seven factory-pre-wired and cooled Vera Rubin racks that can be transported by truck. The first deliveries are scheduled for early 2027.

At its GTC conference in Berlin, Nvidia presented DSX POD, a reference design for Vera Rubin computing centres integrated into modular containers. According to CNBC, each unit, of the size of a standard marine container and approximately 28 tonnes, houses seven racks whose wiring, power supply and liquid cooling are assembled and tested by the manufacturer. On the spot, you just have to put it down, connect it to electricity, cooling and the network, and then validate it: Nvidia announces a delay from six months to 14 days before producing the first tokens.

The group highlights profitability: an infrastructure that starts earlier returns earlier. No price was reported, but a single Vera Rubin rack would exceed $7 million according to analysts. The containers will be produced by partners, including Foxconn, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Gigabyte, Pegatron, Quanta, Schneider Electric, Vertiv, Bull and Anduril, for worldwide deliveries from the beginning of 2027. Nvidia also sees it as a response to the deployment difficulties faced by its European customers.
