DeepX is launching mass production of its DX-M1 chip and is preparing a 2-nanometre version

The South Korean start-up is now manufacturing its neural processor using Samsung’s 5 nm process, claims to have secured 77 orders from more than ten countries, and is aiming for a stock market listing within three years.

DeepX, a South Korean start-up specializing in embedded AI chips, has switched to volume manufacturing of its DX-M1 NPU, produced on Samsung's 5nm process. Between August 2025 and July 2026, the company says it has recorded 77 orders from more than ten countries, signed 27 agreements with semiconductor distributors, and has about 300 organizations in the testing phase.

Focus on 2 nm and robotics

The finalization of the drawing (tape-out) of a 2 nm chip is scheduled for this month, for production expected around March-April 2027. DeepX is also preparing DX-Newton, a software layer for robots and compatible with Nvidia's Isaac platform. In terms of partnerships, an integration with Intel's OpenVINO is expected to deliver its first results in early 2027 and discussions are underway with AMD.

The company plans to open branches in Japan and Europe. Its director, Kim Na-won, has set the goal of an IPO within the next three years.
