UBTech is expanding its humanoid trials at FAW-Volkswagen to include logistics, whilst LDRobot has acquired the German firm Sabo

Chinese firm UBTech is set to trial its humanoid robots in FAW-Volkswagen’s factory logistics operations and has partnered with Xiamen C&D for distribution; LDRobot has secured a network of 1,400 European resellers.

UBTech Robotics and FAW-Volkswagen are expanding their collaboration: after training the Walker S Lite for vehicle quality control at the Qingdao site, the two groups will develop and test humanoids for internal logistics and set up demonstration sites dedicated to smart manufacturing. No volume of robots, amount or timetable has been communicated.

UBTech has also signed a strategic agreement with Xiamen C&D, a supply chain specialist listed in Shanghai, which should open up new markets (public exhibition halls, shopping malls, industrial parks) and provide leasing solutions, with an after-sales and international component.

A foot in Europe for robot mowers

Another move noted on 15 October: the Shenzhen-based LDRobot will take over the German garden equipment manufacturer Sabo-Maschinenfabrik for a maximum of €6 million (€1 million in purchase price and up to €5 million in capital contributions). The interest is mainly commercial: more than 1,400 specialist retailers in Europe to sell its robotic mowers. Sabo's turnover had fallen from €22.6 million in 2024 to €18.2 million in 2025.
