Bessemer and Lightspeed are funding this messaging service, which is aimed at frontline staff and has already been adopted by companies such as FedEx, Starbucks and Taco Bell.
Zenzap, a start-up founded by Guy Weiss, Noam Neumann and Jonatan Bien, has raised $44 million from Bessemer Venture Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners and The Garage, joined by individual investors such as Nir Zohar, president of Wix, and Yoram Tietz, former head of EY. The company, which has a presence in the United States, Tel Aviv and Europe, has about fifty employees and plans to strengthen its product and R&D teams.
An alternative to improvised WhatsApp groups
Zenzap's bet: many companies, especially those that employ field staff, still coordinate their teams via consumer messaging. The application brings together group chats, tasks, calendar, voice and video calls, and adds a layer of AI: search in the workspace, workflow automation, transcription of voice messages and calls. FedEx, Dollar General, Taco Bell, Starbucks, Casey's or Regal use it, as do some IHOP and McDonald's restaurants.
A free version covers basic messaging; paid plans start at $51 per month for 20 users, while AI agents and transcription are billed on credit.
