River AI, the start-up of the former xAI co-founder, raises $1.1 billion

Just two months after its exit from stealth, River AI is wrapping up a giant funding round led by General Catalyst to build a personal AI trained on each user's data.

River AI, founded by former xAI co-founder Igor Babuschkin, has raised $1.1 billion in a round led by General Catalyst and AMP PBC, with notable participation from Nvidia and AMD Ventures among investors. The round comes just two months after the company's stealth exit.

River AI aims to build a complete technology stack, from hardware to training infrastructure to final products, to deliver personal artificial intelligence trained on each user's own data rather than on a generic model.
