Amazon is in talks to acquire Decart for around 7 billion dollars, following Anthropic’s withdrawal

According to the Wall Street Journal, Amazon is in talks to acquire the Israeli start-up Decart, which specialises in world models and video, for nearly 7 billion dollars.

Amazon is reportedly in talks to acquire Decart, an Israeli AI startup, in a deal that would value it at around $7 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal. Anthropic had considered a buyout for about $6 billion before abandoning the due diligence stage. Just a quarter ago, Decart was valued at nearly $4 billion.

Decart has become known for its real-time video generation and world models. According to Hugging News, which relays the information, its technology would also facilitate the transition from one type of AI chip to another: an asset for Amazon, which is looking to push its own Trainium chips into AWS and reduce its dependence on Nvidia. None of the companies have confirmed the discussions.
