Dubai City Council is automating the review of villa plans to speed up the issuing of planning permission, whilst freeing up inspectors to focus on complex projects.
The Dubai Municipality has launched an artificial intelligence platform to automate the review of architectural and engineering plans submitted for building permits. The system compares each file against the building code and local technical standards, and can issue an approval in seconds when the project is compliant.
Initially targeted at private and investment villas, the platform instantly flags non-conformities or missing documents, allowing applicants to correct their file before the official submission. The stated objective is to drastically reduce administrative processing times, while refocusing human inspectors on complex projects requiring specialized expertise.
