Twelve U.S. hospital networks join forces with Aidoc for diagnostic AI consortium

Twelve major U.S. healthcare systems, covering nearly 20 million patients per year, are partnering to develop AI-assisted diagnostic workflows in response to the shortage of radiologists.

Twelve major U.S. hospital networks — including Cedars-Sinai, Mount Sinai, Northwell Health and Houston Methodist — have formed a consortium with Aidoc to jointly develop artificial intelligence-assisted diagnostic workflows. Together, these institutions cover nearly 20 million patients per year, and the initiative aims to improve the safety, quality and speed of diagnosis while pooling best implementation practices.

The consortium is responding to a growing shortage of radiologists in the United States, as the time taken to interpret medical imaging doubled between 2014 and 2023. The first concrete results of this collaboration are expected in 2027.
