WebexOne 2026: Cisco invites Claude to Webex meetings and spaces, and unveils RoomOS 27

Thanks to Claude Managed Agents, AI agents will be able to join meetings, calls and chat rooms to continue the work once the team has signed off.

At its WebexOne conference, held in Austin on October 7, Cisco presented a series of new features focused on AI agents. The most striking is collaborative agents that can be invited to Webex spaces, meetings and calls, starting with Claude, powered by Anthropic's Claude Managed Agents service. The agent retrieves the context of the conversation, offers analysis and recommendations, and then performs follow-up tasks in Webex and third-party applications, including overnight.

Meeting rooms and customer relations

On the hardware side, the RoomOS 27 operating system, expected in November, brings native support for Google Meet on Cisco equipment and a "Director Agent" who coordinates cameras and microphones in the room. Cisco's AI assistant now speaks 32 languages. For contact centers, the company is launching Dialog, a platform that keeps the customer's context from one exchange to the next and completes cases through multiple systems.

For Amit Barave, head of the Webex suite, the collaboration of tomorrow will involve people and agents working side-by-side.
