The new version of Cohere's agent platform redesigns the orchestration, adds persistent memory, and allows administrators to cap consumption per user.
Cohere presented on October 5, North 2, a redesign of its platform to run AI agents in large organizations. Available since August 2025, North has been deployed in finance, health, telecommunications or the public sector, and these deployments have guided the new version. Cohere says she wants to end an arbitration that companies agree to: sacrifice security, capabilities or cost control to get the other two.
Agents who remember and share
The new orchestration engine only tracks tasks in several steps and requires a human when validation is required. Each agent now keeps a memory from session to session, can be shared throughout the company and relies on reusable "skills" and common document libraries. From a simple application, North 2 can also produce a presentation, dashboard or small application. Connectors cover Slack, GitHub, SharePoint and OneDrive, and others are announced to PitchBook, S&P Global and FactSet.
The North Admin console tracks the consumption of tokens per user and agent, allows to set levels and ceilings at the organization level, and applies safeguards against leaking personal data and injecting prompts. The platform remains agnostic vis-à-vis the models and can work on site, including in totally isolated environments. Bell Cyber and LG CNS are among the customers cited. This launch took place less than three weeks after the merger agreement between Cohere and German Aleph Alpha.
