After a six-month beta period and more than 500,000 interviews, HackerRank is making Chakra available to all its clients. Chakra is an agent that uses AI to observe candidates as they code and asks them about their choices.
HackerRank makes available to all its customers Chakra, an AI agent responsible for conducting technical interviews. The candidate receives a realistic programming task in a workspace equipped with an IA assistant; the officer observes the process, asks questions about the choices made or changes the constraints along the way. It evaluates not only the result, but also what the publisher calls " AI control": how to formulate the problem for the machine, examine what it produces and guide it.
Three steps in one
Chakra merges in one session the first exchange with the recruiter, the test to do at home and the interview with an engineer. During the beta, about six months, more than 500,000 interviews were conducted, including Snowflake, Snorkel and Capgemini. HackerRank states that 70-80% of reports of suspicious activity are less than with its conventional tests. For its CEO, since anyone can now produce a deliverable through AI, it is the reasoning and judgment that must be evaluated.
The company claims more than 3,000 professional clients and a community of more than 30 million developers. The question remains of the bias of automated recruitment tools: New York already requires bias audits and information for some candidates.
