Finances in ChatGPT opens up to free and Go accounts in the US

Until now reserved for paying subscribers, the tool that links bank accounts (via Plaid) and credit report (via Experian) is coming to all American users.

OpenAI is extending Finances, its budget management space integrated with ChatGPT, to free and Go plans in the United States. Launched in preview for Pro subscribers in May, the feature allows you to connect your accounts via Plaid, which gives access to more than 12,000 establishments, and then to query the chatbot on your own data: forgotten subscriptions, duplicate direct debits, rising bills, monthly budget or changes in assets.

The credit score in addition

Since September 21, the tool can also read an Experian report and the associated VantageScore 3.0 score to explain what weighs on the user's credit score. This connection is independent of that of bank accounts: it can be activated without linking any account via Plaid.

OpenAI reminds that ChatGPT does not act as a financial advisor and that its answers have an informative value. Experts interviewed by the American press urge caution, both on the security of such sensitive data and on the risk of incorrect answers when it comes to investments.
