This latest injection closes the $30 billion program and increases the Japanese group's cumulative investment in OpenAI to $64.6 billion, for an estimated 13% stake. SoftBank financed this tranche with senior bonds denominated in foreign currencies issued in September.
The conglomerate has also cancelled the 10 billion still undrawn from its bridge loan, initially sized at 40 billion, and repaid all the sums borrowed: it therefore no longer has any outstanding commitments on this line.
