Supabase raises $150 million and buys Turso: 70% of its new databases are created by AI agents

Four months after a Series F of 500 million, Supabase put 150 million back into the pot under the leadership of GIC and bought Turso to provision databases at the agent level.

The open-source Postgres platform Supabase has announced a new $150 million financing led by Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC, with CapitalG, IronArc and SquarePeg. The deal comes just four months after a $500 million Series F; part of the funds will be used to provide liquidity to employees.

Databases designed for agents

Supabase then acquired Turso, a specialist in isolated and inexpensive databases created on demand, which can be deployed in the public cloud or in the customer's infrastructure. Its co-founder Glauber Costa becomes head of Supabase's agent services. Turso's customers include Superhuman, Mastra and CTO.new.

The bet is based on a spectacular change in use: Supabase says it welcomes more than one million users and four million databases each month, 70% of which are now launched by agents or code generation tools such as Claude Code and Codex. The company claims 13 million developers and a 600% growth in the number of databases over one year.
