JLL Design is rolling out the layout generator to all 65 of its studios: test fits in 40 minutes

The AI tool generates initial office layouts in line with regulatory and capacity constraints. JLL Design reports that production time has been halved on average.

JLL Design has deployed August, a generator of layout plans by IA launched in 2021, in all of its 65 studios worldwide. The tool automatically produces the first implementation proposals based on the constraints of the project (construction codes, capacity calculations), which designers then resume and complete by hand.

The firm reports a halving of the time required to achieve a test done for its tertiary clients: about 40 minutes instead of several days, and up to 93% gain depending on the complexity of the project. Use now extends beyond design teams to space occupancy planning services.

Romeu Carpinteiro, responsible for JLL Design's design operations, presents the choice as a response to a concrete need: reliably treat systematic work from one market to another. According to the publisher, laiout generates more than 5 million square metres of commercial space each month in more than 46 countries.
