The Seattle-based start-up, led by Trilogy Equity Partners alongside a16z speedrun, BMW i Ventures and Accel, says it has doubled its turnover every quarter since its launch a year ago.
Founded about a year ago by Karan Grover, former Y Combinator and machine learning engineer, Kanu AI formalized on September 30 a start-up tower of $11.7 million. Trilogy Equity Partners leads the operation, accompanied by a16z speedrun, BMW i Ventures and Accel.
The bet of the company: much of the real operation of a company lives in the heads of employees and in spreadsheets. Kanu observes these ways of doing things and converts them into production applications that run in the customer's cloud, under its own layers of security, with human checkpoints and a readable history of decisions. The software is supposed to adjust when procedures change.
The company claims to have doubled its revenues each quarter and quotes a national client whose analysis went from eight weeks to less than ten minutes. It is aimed at commercial real estate, insurance, financial services and technology, is distributed to AWS and Google Cloud marketplaces, and intends to use funds to recruit in engineering and commercial development.
