OpenAI is approaching $70 billion in annualised revenue, driven by business sales that have more than doubled

OpenAI’s revenue growth has surged by more than 70 per cent since July; its B2B segment has more than doubled over the same period, although the corresponding costs have not been disclosed.

According to information reported on September 29 by Axios, OpenAI's annualized revenue pace is now close to $70 billion, up more than 70% since the beginning of the third quarter. Enterprise revenue more than doubled over the same period, and the consumer business added more revenue in this quarter alone than in the whole of 2025.

A figure to be handled with care

This is a projection of the current pace of sales, not an audited annual revenue, and the method of calculation is not detailed. As a benchmark, Anthropic was given at more than $65 billion at the end of July by Bloomberg, but definitions differ from company to company. OpenAI had indicated in March that the company accounted for more than 40% of its revenue and was expected to reach the general public by the end of 2026.

Above all, no spending data accompanies these figures, while Anthropic's prospectus showed the extent of the calculation-related losses. The question will weigh on the IPO that OpenAI filed confidentially in June.
