OpenAI is introducing a $500 monthly subscription, the only one to give access to Ultrafast mode (up to 300 tokens per second in Codex). In return, the Pro 200 loses half of its quota on October 30.
Among the 20 or so announcements made during its DevDay, OpenAI has slipped a revamp of its premium rate grid. A new level called Pro 500, billed $500 a month, becomes the only one to open access to Ultrafast, an accelerated generation mode that reaches up to 300 chips per second in Codex, about eight times the standard speed, and up to six times faster via the API.

Starting October 30, the use included in the Pro 200 for ChatGPT Work and Codex increases from 20 to 10 times the allocation of the Plus package, and the number of GPT-6 Pro messages allowed in conversation falls from 200 to 100 per week. October 29 will be the last day under current conditions.
To amortize the change, affected subscribers receive a one-time credit of $2,500, available until the end of 2026. The manoeuvre is to create an additional floor above the previous summit, while reducing what this summit offered.
