From a recruitment service assisted by IA, the 25-year-old founder now sells training data to large laboratories, for a value of $4 billion.
Micro1, a company based in San Francisco, has completed a B series of over $100 million that values it $4 billion. The tour represents an eightfold increase in one year: the company was worth 500 million in September 2025. Several of its own clients participate in the funding, including two leading laboratories and two co-founders of xAI.
The company's journey is unusual. Its founder, Ali Ansari, is 25 years old; At the beginning of 2025, he was still conducting an AI-assisted recruitment activity generating approximately $7 million per year. The pivot towards the provision of training data has been achieved in one year, on a segment that has become one of the bottlenecks in model construction. The company claims an annualized revenue rate of about $500 million, with Microsoft and Amazon among its customers.
This operation illustrates a shift of value in the chain: as laboratories exhaust publicly available corpus, it is providers of annotated data and training environments that capture valuations so far reserved for model designers.
