ChatGPT Voice accesses messaging, calendar, and Slack, and switches to GPT-6 models

Three simultaneous evolutions connect OpenAI's voice mode with its plugin ecosystem, professional agentic layer, and latest models.

On September 23, OpenAI rolled out three changes to ChatGPT's voice mode, which stop making it a simple conversation channel. Voice-enabled plugins now cover email, calendar and Slack: it becomes possible to verbally request a free half-hour slot and enter an appointment, find a specific message in your inbox, or check if someone has answered.

Second part: the voice mode can be based on the three models of the GPT-6 generation marketed under the names Astra, Sol and Luna. Third part: the voice works inside ChatGPT Work, on the web as well as on mobile.

Access differs by plan. Plus and Pro subscribers have the Work tab in the mobile app, where they can create a document, write an email, or summarize Slack conversations by talking. The free and Go plans are limited to plugins and connected apps.
